Stephen Curry is the greatest 3-point shooter in NBA history. However, the Golden State Warriors superstar does not own all the records related to 3-point shooting.

In particular, Stephen Curry is not the record holder for most 3-point shots in a Regular Season match. The 34-year-old superstar used to hold this record, before it was broken by his longtime Golden State Warriors teammate Klay Thompson.

On October 29, 2018, Klay Thompson delivered a classy performance against the Chicago Bulls. He successfully threw 14 3-point shots out of a total of 24 shots, and only needed 27 minutes on the field. Klay Thompson ended the match with 52 points, and the Golden State Warriors surpassed their opponent 149-129.

On February 27, 2023, it was Damian Lillard’s turn to have an impressive performance against the Houston Rockets. He scored 71 points, including 13 successful 3-pointers. 

To date, there have been a total of 42 players who have successfully thrown more than 10 3-pointers in a match. Stephen Curry did this 22 times. The second place person, Klay Thompson, only had 5 times in his entire career.
