Social media users always wait for the opportunity to take a dig at Brittany Mahomes. The wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared a story on Instagram on Monday about watching the solar eclipse with her family, enough to warrant some trolling.

On April 8th, a massive solar eclipse took place, which was visible in the northern hemisphere. Similar to the curious people around the world waiting to witness a glimpse of the phenomenon, the Mahomes family gathered around the terrace for a viewing party.

The clip showed their daughter, Sterling, 3, was close to running out in the open when the eclipse was in full swing. Patrick Mahomes quickly ran over and shielded his oldest toddler from the bad effects that the eclipse could have on her eyes.

While the three-time Super Bowl winner received a lot of praise from social media users for protecting Sterling, his wife wasn’t so lucky. As is the case on most occasions.

After the clip went viral, commenters pointed out that if Brittany Mahomes could see her daughter about to come into contact with the harmful rays that are generated during the solar eclipse, then why wasn’t she keeping an eye on her?

Online bullies aside, the Mahomes family enjoyed the viewing experience. In another clip, Patrick was holding Sterling.

"Sterling, what do you see?" Mahomes asked. 

"I see the moon," Sterling replied.

Trolling won’t go away easily for those who are public faces. It gets even more vicious when that individual doesn’t have a good rapport with the online community.

Yet Brittany has managed to keep her calm and support Patrick while taking care of their two children.
