“The offseason has been a disaster!” Nick Wright not happy with Patriots’ lack of moves in free agency

The New England Patriots are all set to start a new era under the guidance of their new head coach Jerod Mayo. After 24-long-years, Bill Belichick was sacked and the team finally announced to step into the post-Belichick era. It is now expected that Mayo will take the Patriots back to the glory days.

In his first press conference, Mayo made it clear that he would go for a restructure in the team. He said that hiring a good quarterback was his priority. In addition, he noted that the team would also make some other important signings. As a result, the team re-signed LB Anfernee Jennings, Nick Leverett and DE Armon Watts as free agents. They also signed Jacoby Brissett as an unrestricted free agent from the Washington Commanders.

However, not everyone is pleased with the offseason performance of the New England Patriots. Nick Wright, who often hits the teams hard with his critical analysis, claimed that it was not enough for the team. On ‘First Things First,’ Wright noted that the Patriots have not provided their best efforts this offseason.

This offseason has been just a disaster... I am saying not doing the search is a wrong decision. Not looking outside the building, not conducting enough use in laning on Jerod Mayo was a mistake. And then they did the exact same thing for the GM. Jonathan Kraft, who is the son of Robert Kraft, decided Eliot Wolf was the best job for the job and Eliot Wolf decided his new right-hand man Mike Groh was the right man. Eliot Wolf, Mike Groh and Jerod Mayo are gonna run the draft.

The Patriots might go for Jayden Daniels

The NFL Draft is only a few weeks away and rumors are high that the team might go for the quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Heisman Trophy winner had a great last season and is one of the favorites to get the top three drafts.

If the QB finally steps into the shoes of the former quarterback Tom Brady, he will have big shoes to fill. However, the QB is not scared of that. In his interview with Adam Schefter last month, the QB said that he was ready to take the challenge up in the coming time.

It'll be dope, obviously growing up and seeing what Tom Brady did there, six Super Bowls. You know, that's stuff to live up to but it'd be dope to come in there and see the success they had and help them get back on that track.

After two bad seasons with their first-choice quarterbacks, the Patriots fans are eagerly waiting for a brilliant college-level pick in the coming season. Making use of the upcoming Draft might go a long way in Patriots having a successful season.
