The Bill Belichick era in the New England Patriots came to an end last season after the franchise decided to part ways with the veteran head coach following consecutive poor seasons. The 24-year-long journey came to an end and since then, Belichick has not found a coaching job in the NFL. He was in touch with the Atlanta Falcons, but things went in vain.

The fact that Belichick has not got a job has surprised a lot of people. Among them is one of his old students. In his conversation with Maxx Crosby‘s show ‘The Edge’, Julian Edelman, the former wide receiver who played under Belichick and won three Super Bowl titles with him, spoke extensively about Belichick’s coaching methods.

Bill is the best coach of all time. And it is not even close. There was not a game that we went into where I did not feel like we were under-prepared and it would be crazy. I was talking about Ty Law and he was saying the same thing. Bill was Ty's DB coach.

Julian Edelman said

The former WR later also focussed on Belichick’s career. His opinions reflected the surprise that he had on Belichick’s current job status. He considered it crazy, and the astonishment reflected in his face.

It honestly crazy to me that he does not have a job. It is insane, it is gnarly, and then this whole this narrative like he is not collaborative...this, that, bullsh*t. He is not collaborative when you provide him some information and that does not work. Yeah, he is not collaborative on that.

Bill Belichick used to listen to players, reveals Edelman

Julian Edelman has always been a trusted lieutenant of Bill Belichick. When the entire world criticized him, he stood by the side of the head coach.

This time was also not an exception. In the same segment, Edelman claimed that Belichick used to listen to the players and used to introduce the thoughts shared by them in the dressing room, a contradictory narrative of what the media has been covering in the last two decades.

He had always come, he would always talk to guys and then we would go to do it. You know, that's how he is.

Edelman revealed

This is not the first time the former wide receiver stood by the side of the head coach. When Belichick was criticized in the Apple TV + documentary ‘The Dynasty’, he didn’t shy to extend his support.
