Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes walks and San Francisco 49ers' Nick Bosa kneels on the field after a play at Super Bowl 58.

A former San Francisco 49ers player has accused the NFL of teaming up with Taylor Swift to rig the Super Bowl in the Kansas City Chiefs’ favor.

Donte Whitner, a former safety for the NFC champions, was a guest on Kay Adams’ ‘Up & Adams’ show this week and made some unpopular comments about February’s big game.

Whitner claimed that the Niners had to play against the Chiefs, as well as the referees and Taylor Swift as he pointed out that there was a lot of holding going on that was overlooked.

When we think about the Super Bowl as well, I think that the 49ers played against the refs as well, guys. I think that when we look at that film and you see bear hugs on those defensive ends, right? And you really see it at blatant moments in the game,” Whitner said. “The 49ers played against Taylor Swift, the refs, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

There were plenty of fans who were not happy with Whitner’s take and ripped him for it.

This is loser mentality,” one wrote. “The Chiefs won because they played the game the right way and they also knew the OT rules. Both teams played well and the better team won. The refs had nothing to do with it. Stop with that!

The San Francisco 49ers Had Their Chances

The San Francisco 49ers had their chances in the game but failed to lock up the win though multiple opportunities came their way.

They sacked Patrick Mahomes three times while both teams got hit with six penalties and the Chiefs lost 15 more yards due to flags.

The Niners also made a mess of the overtime period as they strangely elected to take the ball first. They really have no one but themselves to blame.
