LeBron James in Lakers jerseyLAS VEGAS, NEVADA – OCTOBER 09: LeBron James #23 of the Los Angeles Lakers looks for a rebound against the Brooklyn Nets in the first quarter of their preseason game at T-Mobile Arena on October 09, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Lakers defeated the Nets 129-126.

Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala have retired this year, which means LeBron James is now both the face of the NBA and its oldest player.

The 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star is heading into his 22st season and is still playing at a very high level. Despite hinting he might hang it up after the Lakers were bounced out of the playoffs last season, he might be around for several years still.

LBJ has been saying he wants to play in the league with his oldest son, Bronny James, who could enter the draft after his freshman season at USC. Bronny is confident he’ll return to playing despite suffering cardiac arrest a few months ago.

There are now suggestions that LeBron also wants to play with his younger son, Bryce James, who is still left with two years of high school and a least one college season ahead of him. The speculation is based on a commercial voiced by LeBron’s wife, Savannah James, who hinted that the NBA’s all-time highest scorer wants to play with both of his sons.

If LeBron is also planning on waiting for Bryce, then he will have to play for at least another four seasons. Given what we’ve seen him do in season 20, it would no longer come as a surprise if LeBron James tries to emulate Tom Brady and play until his mid-40s.
