Klay Thompson #11 of the Golden State Warriors warms up before a game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum on January 13, 2024 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Klay Thompson has only played for the Golden State Warriors during his 11 years in the NBA.

Through thick and thin, he has remained loyal to the team and has said he would love to continue playing there for as long as they will have him.

But it may be the end of the road for Thompson and the Warriors, as there is now a lot of speculation about him leaving the team this summer.

Head coach Steve Kerr doesn’t want that, telling Anthony Slater and the press on Tuesday: “We need Klay back.”

Kerr said that Thompson still has “good years left” and wants them to be spent with the Warriors.

Many Warriors fans came out online to agree with Kerr’s statement, saying they also want a future with Thompson continuing to play alongside Stephen Curry and the rest of the team.

These people celebrated Thompson’s “veteran energy” and sharpshooting skills, adding that he does so much more than simply add points to the board.

“We need Klay back desperately,” another fan said.

Others said they can’t imagine the team saying goodbye to Thompson after everything he has done for the team.

Indeed, he has been a vital part of their unparalleled success over the years and was a crucial member of the big three that earned four championships.

However, other people don’t just want to see Thompson pack his bags, they also want Kerr to leave too.

“We don’t want YOU back, Steve,” one fan said, upset with the way that Kerr has been coaching all season long.

This year has been a very hard one for the Warriors and it ultimately ended in disappointment.

Now there are a slew of concerns and questions and a ton of speculation about what’s next for Thompson and the team.
