Rashee Rice finally opened up about his involvement in the March 31st road rage in Dallas. A car registered in the name of the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver crashed on North Central Expressway on the evening of Easter Saturday. Bystanders saw five men coming out of the cars and leaving the scene before the Dallas Police arrived.

A lookout notice was set in motion for Rashee Rice for his alleged involvement in the accident. It was unclear to the police whether the 23-year-old was one of the occupants of the two cars. Three days later, in the late hours of Wednesday, April 3rd, Rice finally addressed the matter. NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared what Rice had to say.

I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted by Saturday's accident.

Rice’s attorney, Royce West, revealed on Monday that Rice is indeed cooperating with the authorities. Turning himself in for questioning was the right move. If he had waited any longer, it would have damaged his reputation.

Rice played for the Dallas-based SMU Mustangs before the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in 2023. Without an elite wide receiver in the squad, Andy Reid gave rookies the chance. He paid it back with an important showing with 26 catches for 262 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs. With the help of Rice, the Chiefs managed to win the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.

It was another great find for the Chiefs, with the SMU graduate poised to take the next step until the Saturday evening car accident. This ticked off a few including Keyshawn Johnson. The Undisputed host vented out his frustration recently.

I know him, and he’s old enough to know better. So I’m pissed at him. I’ve already texted him, and he won’t respond to me because my text was not nice. I t[ried] to get him to understand the life that he was getting ready to start. Coming out of SMU, he had a little red flag here, which is why he fell to the second round.

He further added that any football player should remember what happened with Henry Ruggs and how he ended up following a massive car accident. After Rice’s accident, one of the victims, a mother of a 4-year-old, claimed none of the occupants of the two cars came to check on them. She thanked God for keeping her and her kid safe.
