Bill Belichick makes waves sporting Washington Huskies gear at UW spring practice weekend

Several high school coaches flocked to the University of Washington spring football practice for a coaching masterclass on Saturday. Perhaps they weren’t prepared to receive wisdom from NFL royalty, Bill Belichick.

Even though the former New England Patriots head coach has yet to land a job following his exit from Foxborough, Belichick made his presence felt as he moved to and fro from Husky Stadium and Dempsey Indoor. The veteran head coach was wearing the colors of the Huskies while his eyes scanned around players going through their drills.

It’s ironic that just last month his son Stephen Belichick, now the defensive coordinator of Washington, called out his father for being unemployed, unlike him. The pair were seen chatting away at the training center.

Besides Washington, Bill Belichick was also in Nebraska

Although ESPN is not entirely keen on bringing the six-time Super Bowler in as an analyst, it’s clear his experience is invaluable for everyone. Take, for example, the University of Nebraska, the home of the Cornhuskers, which invited Belichick for a speech that went on for more than four hours.

Nebraska, now headed by former Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule, wouldn’t miss this opportunity. After sitting through the detailed masterclass, Rhule claimed he felt embarrassed by the genius of Bill Belichick.

He is so smart and has seen so much that he can make the complex so simple that it humbles and embarrasses you. I hope all these little things they say, ‘Wow, everything in this program’s really intentional and everything’s done at a really high level.

Matt Ruhle told The North Platte Telegraph

The admiration goes both ways. Back when Rhule was still in Carolina, Belichick claimed he had done a great job at Temple and Baylor University.

A ton of respect for Matt Rhule. He did a tremendous job at Temple. Ran a great program there, then, of course, went down to Baylor and did an outstanding job down there.

Bill Belichick said

Both Fisch and Rhule will be busy with Washington and Nebraska, but what about Belichick? There’s still yet to be any sort of concrete information about the veteran’s next step in his career.
