Stefon Diggs has never been the one to shy away from speaking his mind, especially on social media. However this time, his honesty has re-ignited the rumors that head coach Sean McDermott had dismissed last November– his beef with quarterback Josh Allen.

In a post shared by Robert Griffin III, he talked about how important star wide receiver Diggs has been to the Buffalo Bills and Allen’s success. But that’s not what triggered Diggs, it was a fan’s comment on the post.

Does Josh benefit from having a top tier receiver, yes. Is he essential to his success, no.

The comment reads

Of course, the wide receiver didn’t like being disrespected like that and replied with a simple two-word comment. Well, it appeared more like taking a shot at the Bills star quarterback.

The whole drama involving the Bills’ two biggest stars began after the Bills’ divisional-round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, where Diggs was spotted shouting at Allen on the sideline for the playoff loss, while the quarterback remained still.

Earlier in the game, Diggs motioned the two-time Pro Bowler to throw the ball a little higher at him. It may have led the Bills to the Super Bowl that season, but it didn’t happen and the camera also spotted Diggs leaving the stadium just minutes after the loss, abruptly.

For a team’s success, there needs to be good bonding and mutual respect between the wide receiver and the quarterback.

But at Buffalo, they have a major crisis in this respect. Their intense feud even sparked potential trade rumors in the middle of the offseason, as many speculated the franchise may consider trading Diggs.

On the contrary, Jeff Darlington emphasized that the Bills aren’t ready to let go of their pass rusher. In the contract situation, General Manager Brandon Beane would be more inclined towards convincing Diggs to take a pay cut and still keep him in the team.

However, if the franchise seriously considers entertaining trade offers, potential teams interested in the trade may include the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans.
