Since he is known as The Notorious Conor McGregor inside The Octagon, the reboot of the original 1989 action classic Road House had little to think about making him the unhinged antagonist of the film known as Knox.

And once the mixed martial artist came to know about the project and how he could contribute to it, he decided to give it his all.

Even before the film became available on Prime Video, the trailer showcased just how insane and quirky his character is, a feat that’s quite hard to achieve considering this is the fighter’s first film.

But more than acting and action, the star had no issues with going naked in the film in one scene, which is an homage by this project to Patrick Swayze’s character from the original.

After the title of Undisputed Champion, entrepreneur, and multi-millionaire, people can now also associate Conor McGregor‘s name with the title of star after his stellar performance in the recently released remake of 1989’s Road House captured the audience.

At one point when the audience is enjoying what this film has to offer, true fans of the original film notice how the MMA fighter paid homage to the Late Patrick Swayze.

In the film, we are introduced to the UFC Champion’s character, a hitman named Knox, for the first time in a scene where his full naked posterior area is visible to the audience.

While this may have been chalked up to the lunacy aspect of his role, this was actually the film trying to pay its respect to the legacy of the original film’s star, who played the role of the protagonist John Dalton, whose similar counterpart in this film is played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

In a report by USA Today, McGregor revealed that when the production asked him whether he would be okay in his birthday suit, he obliged pretty easily, saying:

“I am a free spirit, I am confident, I feel in good shape. They asked me, and I said, ‘You know, go ahead.’”

Thus, via a simple yet risqué scene in the film, both the mixed martial artist and the new film remembered the iconic moments of Swayze from the original.

As stated earlier, this film is a remake of the original 1989 film which follows the story of a retired MMA fighter and his fight to save something he holds dear.

The story of Road House starts with Elwood Dalton, a former UFC Champion who is employed by a bar owner named Frankie as a bouncer and only form of security and order in her beachside bar named Road House.

But an entrepreneur named Ben Brandt wants that part of her property to build his luxury resort, to which Frankie doesn’t comply.

Thus, he sends a hitman named Knox to settle this by any means, and it’s up to Dalton to protect this establishment.
