Paris Fury appears to hint at the reason why Tyson Fury lost to Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury lost for the first time in his career against Oleksandr Usyk.

Tyson Fury’s wife, Paris, has appeared to hint at the reason why he lost to Oleksandr Usyk.

On Saturday night, Fury’s unbeaten record came to an end after he fell to a split decision defeat against Usyk at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Fury suffered his first-ever defeat after 36 professional fights, his record now reads 34 wins, one draw and one defeat.

On Sunday morning, Fury’s wife, Paris, posted an emotional message on her social media and appeared to hint at the reason why he lost the fight.

She wrote: “19 and 20 on this newly married, love him more than ever, best man in my eyes.

“Will never not be at your side for a fight again. Even though I couldn’t be there, I wished I was.”

She added: “To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’ holy law.”

However, Fury will have the chance to activate an immediate rematch clause which was reportedly included in the contract.

Speaking inside the ring after the fight, Fury said: “I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them, and I believe it was one of those what-can-you-do, one of them… decisions in boxing.

“We both put on a good fight, best we can do. But make no mistake, I won that fight, in my opinion, and I’ll be back. I’ve got a rematch clause.”

Meanwhile, Usyk said: “Last time when my father saw me was in my dreams. I miss my father and I said to him ‘hey listen, you live there and I live here, please don’t come for me, I love you.’

“For me it is hard when my father comes back to me because I remember all life,” Usyk added while visibly emotional and wiping away tears from his eyes. |I know he is here, maybe sitting out there [in the press room].”

He added: “My camp started in September 2023, I worked for nine months. I missed Happy New Year, I missed my son’s birthday, I missed my other son’s birthday, I missed my daughter’s birthday and then the birth of my daughter.

“I also missed family holidays. I was only focused on this fight, now I’m happy and I want to go back home.”
