The rave and unhinged obsession of people regarding their favorite film or TV show is something that is unfortunately well-documented, which can often times lead to some seriously disturbing circumstances.

This time, that situation was caused by none other than haters of filmmaker Zack Snyder and his vision of the DCEU dubbed ‘The Snyderverse’.

This was not just an instance of cyber-bullying as this time, they went over the top and issued a threat that they were going to kill Ray Porter, the star who played the role of Darkseid in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

This was an extremely unhinged and concerning response to the star’s public show of support for Snyderverse’s revival.

The internet is full of stories where fans of pop culture have been witnessed taking matters into their own hands and creating unsettling and borderline criminal circumstances.

And recently, we saw a similar situation like this repeated when actor Ray Porter started receiving death threats from crazy haters of filmmaker Zack Snyder.

Considered to be one of the most influential filmmakers in the superhero cinema genre, people have extremely polarizing opinions on Snyder’s reign at WB as supervisor of the now-dismantled DCEU. Where some call him a risk-taking visionary who was ahead of his time, others cannot stand him because he destroyed the franchise with creative choices that led to its downfall.

And it just so happened to be that Ray Porter, who played Darkseid in the filmmaker’s last DC film Zack Snyder’s Justice League, is a supporter of the director and his vision for the DCEU that he had.

This was also the reason why he was active in persuading Netflix to buy the rights for The Snyderverse. But this didn’t sit well with the haters of Snyder, who started to threaten him online.

This situation is genuinely terrifying because it has been witnessed before that threats like these can have serious consequences for the one receiving them down the line, where an unwell individual might just do what is said here.

What Do The Fans Have To Say About This?

Since he is in the business of bringing iconic superheroes and supervillains to life through his films, even Snyder realizes fans might dislike him personally because that version of the character wasn’t what they had in mind.

The other reasons why he has such a huge chunk of the audience hating him comes from the fact that many of his films fail to live up to the hype and expectations that were promised to be fulfilled in the past. But at the same time, everyone can agree that this type of behavior is absolutely unacceptable.
