WWE had essentially confirmed the change in Roman Reigns’ character from face to heel, at the Payback special in 2020. While Reigns always wanted to be a heel, his character overhaul certainly reinvigorated his persona and validated his position at WWE, in a new way. But now it seems, Reigns can finally ditch his heel role because Tama Tonga is here.

After Paul Heyman and The Bloodline addressed their loss at WrestleMania 40, during the WWE SmackDown, a hooded figure appeared attacking Jimmy Uso during the event. Well, it was none other than Tama Tonga, who made his WWE debut as the latest member of The Rock and Roman Reigns’ The Bloodline.

Tama Tonga’s Debut as the Latest Member of The Bloodline

Things have changed a lot after the recent WrestleMania 40 event, where The Bloodline members – The Rock and Roman Reigns lost to Cody Rhodes and his acquaintances on the day 2 main event. While Dwayne Johnson wanted to fight Reigns at the main event, Rhodes took away the opportunity and later won the match, despite Rock’s repeated threats and warnings.

Thereafter, Roman Reigns went off television and is currently said to be on a break as the latest episode of WWE SmackDown takes place. During the SmackDown, fans witnessed Paul Heyman taking responsibility for the loss at WrestleMania 40, alongside The Bloodline, when suddenly Solo Sikoa appeared with different plans.

In Reigns’ absence from his heel role as a member of The Bloodline, Sikoa appeared taking control and hugging Jimmy Uso.

But it seemed Solo Sikoa wanted a change within The Bloodline when he began questioning the value of winning and losing as per Wrestling INC. That’s when tension escalated between Sikoa and Uso, when the latter got attacked by a hooded figure who turned out to be none other than Tama Tonga.

The former NJPW star then began brutalizing Jimmy Uso alongside Sikoa, who delivered four devastating Samoan Spikes to Uso.

Taking things to a grave level, Solo Sikoa then urged Paul Heyman to join them, when the latter hesitantly obliged and tried calling Roman Reigns.

But since Sikoa had different plans for The Bloodline, he smashed Heyman’s phone and delivered a vicious Hip attack on defenseless Uso, with the help of Tama Tonga. According to reports, Tonga joined WWE as the latest member of The Bloodline.

Roman Reigns Can Ditch His Heel Role After WrestleMania 40

Although Tama Tonga does not share the same bloodline as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson or Roman Reigns, and represents the Tangan lineage, he still came as a member of The Bloodline, since Rock and Reigns consider his father, Haku, as their uncle.

But as of now, it seems, Tonga’s debut during WWE SmackDown as the new member of The Bloodline opened several doors for future storylines.

One such storyline, as fans expect, gives birth to the highly anticipated The Rock vs Roman Reigns fight in next year’s WrestleMania 41. Since Solo Sikoa visibly tried bringing change from within The Bloodline, Tama Tonga’s debut hints at how Reigns can finally ditch his heel role at WWE.

Although Reigns previously claimed that he had always wanted to be a heel, it seems the end of his terrifying character is near, as fans believe The Rock is behind Sikoa and Tonga’s brutality towards Jimmy Uso.

It is being deemed that The Rock is trying to kick out Roman Reigns for losing to Cody Rhodes, and is therefore trying to build his own Bloodline.

Further, since Solo Sikoa appears to be taking control of things in Reigns’ absence, it seems to hint at a brutal fight between Reigns and The Rock in the upcoming WrestleMania. While fans are certainly excited about Tama Tonga’s debut, it appears people are more curious about what future storylines can arise out of Tonga’s debut.

Meanwhile, as netizens embrace the possibility of a potential fight between Reigns and Rock, they believe, Reigns might finally ditch his heels role, which will be taken over by Johnson.

However, as of now, nothing has been confirmed, but since Triple H previously hinted at a surprising storyline awaiting Reigns, fans appear optimistic about Roman Reigns vs The Rock.
