Taylor Swift fans slam Courtney Love’s ‘jealous’ comments about singer and call out her previous tribute to star

Courtney also made scathing comments about Lana Del Rey and Beyonce

TAYLOR Swift’s fans are slamming Courtney Love for calling the singer “not important” or “interesting.”

The 59-year-old said she “positively hates the idea” of 14-time Grammy winner Taylor, 34.

“Taylor is not important,” Courtney told the Evening Standard.

“She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist.”

She made the scathing comments while promoting her new series, “Courtney Love’s Women,” in which she reflects on the women in music who have shaped her career.

Taylor’s followers slammed the rocker over her statement and pointed out that she wished Taylor a happy birthday in 2021.

“Happy belated birthday Taylor Swift,” she wrote at the time alongside a photo with the Bad Blood singer.

“Aspirational huge role model for many young women & occasional hair twin/neighbor.”

“Mind you this was her three years ago lmfao,” one fan pointed out along a screenshot of the tribute on X, formerly Twitter.

“She’s jealous,” another added and a third posted, “‘Taylor is not important’ yet you’re asked to speak on her?”

“She’s so unimportant, yet the only part of your interview that we care about is you discussing her lmfao. RIP Kurt Cobain,” someone else commented.

“And go Taylor Swift. That’s all I gotta say.”

“I’m laughing at people being shocked that Courtney Love is hating on other female artists,” another user joked.

“Welcome to 1992!!! Homegirl has been a hater since the 90s.”

Courtney – who has a daughter, Frances Bean, with late rocker Kurt Cobain – also took aim at Lana Del Rey and Beyonce in the interview.

“I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off,” she said.

She added that she doesn’t “like” Beyonce, who recently became the first Black woman to lead the Top Country Albums Chart with her album, Cowboy Carter.

“I mean, I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed, not that I like it much,” she said.

“As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music.”

Courtney rose to fame as the lead singer of the alternative rock band Hole, which she formed in 1989.

She drew attention with her confrontational lyrics, as well as her highly publicized marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt.

The rocker died in 1994 at the age of 27.
