Zack Snyder’s Snyderverse still has immaculate domination and an astonishing fanbase with leading heroes, including Superman star Henry Cavill and Batman actor Ben Affleck. Certainly, Snyderverse was much darker going to the extent of his own vision of creating a DC Universe that might not be digestible for many fans.

The reign of Snyder and his Snyderverse is over, and it is unlikely that the director is coming back to DC anytime soon. But while reflecting on his DC characters, the director who has Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver slated for Netflix release this year, revealed that he has no regret in throwing Batman and Superman into one tough spot.

Zack Snyder Reflected On Batman and Superman Killing People

In the generic purview of Batman and Superman lies the ethical and moral conundrum that keeps the two DC frontline heroes from killing people in his 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, Zack Snyder was always ready to move beyond the generic perception of the most popular DC characters, throwing them into a pit of moral dilemma that raised the question of their heroic essence. Still, as for Snyder, he has no regret doing that despite a wave of criticism as several fans found it hard to digest. Rather, he celebrates everything about the film. Speaking with Empire, the director addressed the ruffled feathers of some fans.

“The only reason I’m not surprised is that some people got brainwashed by a bunch of material that’s not consistent with true canon,” Snyder said (via ScreenTime).

Of course, Snyder believes that fans were brainwashed by the astonishing amount of material on the characters. Certainly, Batman and Superman are the most popular DC characters, and the materials on them have been a factor as consumption of it let fans away from accepting the bold move by the director.

Snyder has no regrets for making Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the way he wanted. Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the Snyderverse director revealed that he had no issues with some fans not liking the movie. “I have no issue with you not liking the movie,” Snyder told Rogan. “That’s not the question. Who cares? The thing is, like, you would personalize. You’d hate me because of it. I don’t understand that,” he added. The director also addressed Batman killing people.

“People are always like, ‘Batman can’t kill.’ So Batman can’t kill is canon. And I’m like, ‘Okay, well, the first thing I want to do when you say that is I want to see what happens’ And they go, ‘Well, don’t put him in a situation where he has to kill someone.’ I’m like, ‘Well, that’s just like you’re protecting your God in a weird way, right? You’re making your God irrelevant.’”

The movie went on to be quite polarizing, for the intention of the filmmaker reflecting on the screen. The director also revealed that he had to fight over the R rating from MPA as Snyder said it was just for the two superheroes fighting.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is available to stream on Max.
