While public opinion could have been easily swayed, what did his children really think about the trial at the time, and in the years since?

What do O.J. Simpson’s children with his ex-wife think about his case?

O.J. Simpson rose to prominence as one of the greatest running backs of all time, and he spent 11 years in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed a lot of success during his stint in the NFL. Unfortunately, his life took a very different turn, and Simpson became a household name for a very different reason.

In 1994, the NFL player was accused of a double homicide. He was the prime suspect in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and their friend, Ronald Goldman.

The case riveted the nation from the very beginning, with the police trying to apprehend him after a car chase that was televised live to the public. The trial ended with Simpson walking away with a non-guilty verdict.

Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend were stabbed to death outside her house in Brentwood. The killings sent shockwaves throughout the nation due to their sheer brutality.

Simpson had two children with her: Sydney and Justin, but what did they think of their father being charged with murder?

At the time of the crime, Sydney was 8, and Justin was 5. Bossip had reported that Sydney thought her father was guilty. However, her ex-boyfriend, Stuart Alexander Lee, gave a different version to Radar.

“They speculate that it was a drug deal gone bad. May she rest in peace, but [Nicole’s] throat was cut like a Colombian necktie. Sydney doesn’t believe O.J. did it, but she doesn’t know what to believe. The media changes, and how the police changed the whole situation … Either way, her mother died,” he said.

It is not easy to talk about one’s own mother’s murder, and it is the same for Simpson’s children too. Regardless, Sydney and Justin loved their father, who died of prostate cancer recently.

O.J. Simpson also had support during the trial

The Buffalo Bills star had two children, Jason and Arnelle, from his first marriage to Marguerite. The couple had another child who drowned in the pool in 1979, the year they parted ways.

Jason did not speak up much during or after the trial, even though he showed up at the courthouse a few times. Arnelle, however, was Simpson’s rock, as she supported her father throughout the process. She even testified in court, recalling how distraught he was after Nicole Brown Simpson died.

Even his first wife, Marguerite, believed in his innocence. Jet Magazine reported that she did not think her husband had anything to do with the murders.

O.J. Simpson’s trial was hailed as the ‘trial of the Century’ and it even saw the Kardashian family get involved. Moreover, as he was acquitted of all charges, Simpson’s case shed light on how race played a role in criminal procedures.
