The recent controversy between Sacha Baron Cohen and Rebel Wilson stems from a string of incidents that allegedly occurred while filming The Brothers Grimsby.

The controversy surfaced when Wilson took to Instagram to promote her memoir, Rebel Rising. On Instagram, Wilson said that she “worked with a massive a**hole”. Later, she clarified that “The ‘a**hole’ that (she was) talking about in ONE CHAPTER of (her) book is Sacha Baron Cohen”

Now, the team of Baron Cohen has come forward to answer the allegations being made by Wilson. As reported by US Weekly, the representatives have dismissed the claims as “demonstrably false” and that they had “extensive detailed evidence” contradicting them.

“While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby”

Rebel Wilson’s highly anticipated memoir hits shelves on April 2nd, promising a candid look at her life.

During the filming of The Brothers Grimsby in 2014, Rebel Wilson spoke to Courier Mail about her experience collaborating with Sacha Baron Cohen. “Sacha is so outrageous,” claimed Wilson during the interview.

“Every single day he’s like, ‘Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘No!’ “Sacha and I have the same agent in America and I’m like, ‘Sacha, I’m going to call our agent Sharon and tell her how much you are harassing me.’

“Every day he’s like, ‘Just go naked, it will be funny. Remember in Borat when I did that naked scene? It was hilarious.’ “On the last day, I thought I’d obviously won the argument and he got a body double to do the naked scene.
