One Piece is one of the most popular anime of all time. It has been running for more than 25 years, and its popularity has been on a constant rise.

Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the King of Pirates still keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. On the other hand, Attack on Titan came to an end in early November 2023.

For the past decade, Attack on Titan has become a household name for anime fans. Even though One Piece and Attack on Titan have been reigning supreme for quite some time, they were recently dethroned by a fan-favorite anime from the new generation.

The anime to top the viewing charts, overtaking the old-generation anime, is Jujutsu Kaisen.

Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the top-rated anime in the last few years. Its serialization began in 2018, and within six years, it has been adapted into two seasons and won two Crunchyroll Anime of the Year awards.

Season three’s teaser has been released, and it might not be long before it airs on television. Even though it’s a new-generation anime, it has left behind giant anime franchises like One Piece and Attack on Titan.

The latest analytical data collected from the firm Parrot Analytics revealed that it has a massive demand. Its difference from an average show is 71.2 times greater.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 had two phases, with the first one releasing in mid-year and the second phase in late 2023. Season 2 concluded on December 29, 2024. Since then, there has been no stopping its rise in demand.

On the day of the season finale, the graph reached the highest, with demand increasing to a staggering 128 times. One of the major factors that contributed to its popularity is the audience.

Being a new-generation anime, the age gap of the audience varies between 13 to 22 years. With anime becoming mainstream, it further boosted the demand.

One Piece and Attack On Titan Lost The Spot To Younger Audience

One Piece and Attack On Titan has a huge fanbase. The former especially after Netflix released One Piece Live Action, gained a massive hike in its demand.

The latter, on the other hand, had already set the stage by dividing the final season into several parts. While both of them performed admirably, they were ultimately left behind by one of the greatest anime of the current generation.

One Piece and Attack On Titan, being old anime, failed to capture the attention of the younger audience. While Jujutsu Kaisen had 71.3% of its audience comprised of younger audiences, One Piece and Attack On Titan only had 56.7% and 64.4%, respectively.

The Shibuya Incident arc and the Hidden Inventory arc were enough to triumph over Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy and Eren Jaeger’s sacrifice.

Attack On Titan ended on November 5, 2023. With One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen left, it will be an interesting battle of viewership. Parrot Analytics did thorough research by including viewership, desire, engagement, and consumer attention in their data.

One Piece releases episodes each week, while Jujutsu Kaisen is a seasonal anime. Both of them are on their final saga in the manga. The battle of the old-gen against the new-gen anime has got the fans excited. But for now, it is the new-gen anime that leads the races.
