First appearing in the 2021 Disney+ MCU miniseries Hawkeye, Alaqua Cox made a splash with the audience through her understated yet impactful performance as Maya Lopez in the show, which also set her up for her bright future in the franchise.

And the audiences were not left disappointed when she appeared again in her own standalone miniseries as the titular character Echo.

After the series wrapped up, the possibilities for the character skyrocketed to new heights with the multiverse opening new gates for the future.

Thus, if there is to be a season 2 somewhere down the line, then Cox revealed that she would want her character to fight the Green Goblin from the Spider-Man films, which many fans are calling a pipe dream.

Alaqua Cox Wants Echo To Fight Green Goblin in a Potential Season Two

While the MCU series Echo may have been a miniseries with almost zero chance of another season in the future, fans are still positive about the future of Alaqua Cox as the titular protagonist of the show since everything in the franchise is connected.

Making possibilities endless through the Multiverse even more, the actress revealed that if there was to be another season, she would want Green GGoblinin there to face off against.

In an interview with ScreenRant, the MCU star revealed that if she could have a go at another season of her series, she would definitely want the original family of Maya Lopez to come to New York as well as use their ancestral powers for good

. Along with that, she talked about her interest in fighting Green Goblin, played by actor Willem Dafoe in the films, as the main antagonist. She said:

“[I’d like more of] Maya’s family. I wouldn’t mind if they went to New York City and all got revenge on those people that have hurt them and also used the powers of their ancestors that they have. I think that’d be cool storyline. And the Green Goblin. That would be pretty cool. I think I’d like to face the Green Goblin.”

Although her eyes are set on the bigger picture since the villain became canon to the MCU with Spider-Man: No Way Home, this still seems more like a far-fetched dream than anything else, and many fans reverberate the same sentiment.

Although it was a blast from the past to see Dafoe don that maniacal grin on his face once more as he played the role of Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home, many believe that it was a one-off thing rather than something that will be continued in the future.

In conjunction with that, the fight with Lopez won’t even be fair as this villain is known to be psychotic and ruthless, which means he will use every single dirty trick in the book to make sure Echo loses hard, if not from their difference in powers and abilities. Thus, fans claim that Cox’s wish might just remain a wish.

 

 

 

 

 

Since the franchise has proven several times in the past that it harbors a never-say-never attitude, it will definitely be interesting to see Echo duking it out with the Green Goblin, if that can ever happen.
