Yet in a recent interview, Chastain revealed a striking detail that makes the two share a rare record. As per the Interstellar star, many people ended up naming their daughters after the sci-fi Christopher Nolan film. Similarly, several people in the country named their daughters after Clarke’s Game of Thrones character, a trend that is still continuing.

Fans Have Been Naming Their Daughters After Jessica Chastain’s Interstellar Character

Jessica Chastain‘s Interstellar is insanely famous, thanks to Christopher Nolan‘s unique vision and intriguing storyline. The science-fiction adventurous tale of NASA physicists working to save humans from Earth’s destruction, the movie is set up in a dystopian future. Recipient of an Academy Award including several other prestigious accolades, the movie is a legend as far as the sci-fi genre and science are concerned.

Jessica Chastain stared as Murphy Murph Cooper, a NASA scientist just like her father. Perfectly portraying the emotional challenges and complexities of such a role, the actress won huge acclaim for her role. And in a recent interview with PEOPLE, the actress revealed that fans still love her character very much.

“I’ve had a lot of people just yell, ‘Murph’ at me. ‘Murph.’ I get a lot of that, and I’m like, ‘Yes, physics.’”

The actor later adds that she hopes that people’s love for her character will also lead to them developing a love for science.

“[There have] been a lot of couples who have told me they’ve named their children, their daughters Murph after Interstellar. So I was like, ‘Well, maybe this means it’ll be a boon to science.’”

While that is a very noble hope to have, Chastain remarked that she regrets not seeing how glamorous science could be while growing up.

Jessica Chastain and Emilia Clarke’s Rare Record

While people have been busy naming their kids all kinds of names, Jessica Chastain’s Interstellar character has turned out to be a unique inspiration. While people naming their kids after her character might be new for Chastain, it is something that Emilia Clarke has been experiencing since she first starred in Game of Thrones.

As per the US Social Security Administration records, the name Khaleesi aka the title of Clarke’s Game of Thrones character, Daenerys Targaryen is a popular name for kids. A feminine title that means Queen in the fictional Dothraki language, Khaleesi has thus led to Clarke achieving a rare record.

Although several parents expressed regret naming their kids the unique name after the disastrous season 8 of the once-immensely popular show (see Daily Mail), the name still being used by fans suggests that the name is a popular choice among the population.

Game of Thrones can be streamed on HBO Max and Interstellar can be streamed on Amazon Prime.
