To put it bluntly, the women’s division in the wrestling industry has been gradually losing respect, as WWE fans have been reportedly demeaning female wrestlers.

While several incidents have been reported over time, the recent one allegedly happened during the Bayley vs IYO SKY match at WrestleMania 40.

According to tweets shared online, a person was seen being escorted outside by security after their supposed negative remarks during the Bayley vs IYO SKY match.

Netizens took images of the incident and stated that the person was being thrown out of the arena for chanting “Women Can’t Wrestle”, during the nail-biting match, which was later won by Bayley.

WWE Security Allegedly Kick Out Fan for Misogynistic Chant

It’s been years that the women’s division in WWE has been facing disrespect and misogyny from fans and the wrestling industry at large. Identifying wrestling as a man’s sport, the WWE universe has been sexualizing female wrestlers who try to explore the field.

Recently, during WrestleMania 40, a netizen highlighted the situation of the Women’s Championship after a fan got kicked out for disrespecting the Bayley vs IYO SKY match.

On the second night of WrestleMania 40, Bayley took on IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship title. Netizens took to social media to address how a few fans had been criticizing the female wrestlers in WWE.

Spreading extreme negativity throughout the arena, fans reported how a handful of people had been chanting “Women Can’t Wrestle” during the Bayley vs IYO SKY match.

 

 

 

 

Following the misogynistic comments and disrespectful chants, netizens reported that the fans were allegedly kicked out of the arena by WWE security. Although there was no video evidence of the incident, a photo made rounds on the internet showing a person being escorted by the security, in orange uniforms, from the seats. Well, what a loss for the individual who missed the WrestleMania 40 event after being supposedly kicked out for alleged remarks.

Bayley Defeats IYO SKY to Win WWE Women’s Championship

Meanwhile, during the WrestleMania 40 main event, Damage CTRL imploded as Bayley took on IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship. Previously winning the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble, Bayley announced her decision regarding her WrestleMania opponent during the February 2 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Therein, claiming that SKY turned her back on her after she won the title, Bayley told the wrestler that she would see her at WrestleMania.

Finally, coming for a face-off during the WrestleMania 40 day 2 main event, Bayley made an Egyptian-themed entrance, which was later followed by a back-and-forth match, in the early moments. Thereafter, SKY took control by targeting her opponent’s knee and delivered a moonsault to Bayley on the outside. Although Bayley struggled to build momentum, she narrowly escaped SKY’s cross-face, followed by an STF as per NoDQ.

However, soon, the wrestler faced a slap from IYO SKY and got hit with Over The Moonsault. But thankfully, yet again, Bayley escaped by kicking out of it and maintained control when SKY countered the Rose Plant.

Eventually, Bayley came off the top with a flying elbow and defeated SKY with the Rose Plant to win the title. Becoming the new WWE Women’s Champion, Bayley met with applause from the audience.
