Hollywood star Brad Pitt has won another round in his legal battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over their co-owned French vineyard, Chateau Miraval.

The dispute centers around Jolie’s decision to sell her stake in the winery to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021, which Pitt claims breaches their original agreement.

The Fight Club star filed the lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022, accusing her of breaching their agreement by selling her stake to Shefler without offering him first refusal.

The lawsuit seeks to reverse the sale. In a countersuit, Nouvel (Yuri Shefler’s company) is seeking a staggering $350 million in damages from Pitt.

The legal battle shows the ongoing tensions between Pitt and Angie after their tough divorce in 2016. They bought the vineyard together in 2008, and it means a lot to both of them. This adds another layer of complexity to the already high-stakes lawsuit.

Brad Pitt Likely to Score Another Win in Ongoing French Vineyard Battle with Angelina Jolie

In a recent decision, the Aix-en-Provence appellate court in France refused Yuri Shefler’s company, Nouvel, access to documents taken from the winery during a raid last year.

Valerie Gerard, the judge in charge of the case said Nouvel couldn’t ask for the documents because it isn’t a direct shareholder in Chateau Miraval.

This ruling is a big setback for Shefler and Angelina Jolie as it makes it harder for them to get evidence to back up their arguments.

Although, there is a long way to go in this litigation, but at the moment, the momentum is certainly with Brad Pitt (which makes it his third legal victory in the past few months).

In November, a Luxembourg court temporarily took away some of Shefler’s shares in Chateau Miraval, giving Pitt more ownership. Also, earlier this month, a judge in Los Angeles rejected Jolie’s attempt to dismiss Pitt’s lawsuit about her selling her shares.

These consecutive wins indicate that the situation might be shifting in the two Academy Awards winner’s favor. A source close to him told U.S. Sun his strong commitment to seeing the case to its end, saying, “From the moment this hostile takeover bid began, he made it clear that he wasn’t going to be bullied – and he meant it.”

The never-ending legal fight between the two is heading towards yet another courtroom showdown. Because the famous former couple is still stuck in a bitter argument over who gets custody of their six kids (via New York Post).

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Custody Battle Heats Up as Fourth Trial Looms

They both care about their kids, but they can’t agree on things like who gets the kids when and how they should be raised.

One big problem is that Jolie wants to move the kids to Europe, but Pitt wants them to stay in Los Angeles. They’re stuck on this issue, and neither is willing to budge.

There have been accusations of bad behavior and abuse, making their relationship even worse. They’ve tried to keep things private, but the media spotlight intensifying as the case drags on.

The upcoming trial presents an opportunity for both Pitt and Jolie to present their arguments and seek a court-sanctioned resolution to their ongoing disputes. But considering the complexity of the issues and the animosity between them, it’s unlikely they’ll find a quick and friendly solution.

As people around the world keep an eye on this Hollywood drama, one thing is clear: the legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is far from over.
