Following in the footsteps of House of the Dragons, which was an immense success for HBO, several spin-offs to Game of Thrones are currently in development.

While fans are extremely excited to delve deeper into the world of Westeros, unfortunately, Kit Harington’s Jon Snow spin-off, which was once reported to be in the works, is no longer happening.

With the spin-off officially off the cards, hopes of diving deeper into the Land Of Always Winter, which many theorized would’ve be explored in the canned spin-off, is now out of the equation.

The Jon Snow Spin-off Could’ve Revealed What Lies Beyond the Land of Winters

The Land of Always Winter, the northernmost part of Westeros, is frigid and inhospitable even for the wildings, with White Walkers being the only ones to resist the unforgiving conditions. But with them gone, and Jon Snow being exiled from Westeros in GOT‘s ending, many theorized the canned show would’ve delved deeper to reveal what lies beyond it.

Considering in the 1st book, when Bran is in a coma, he sees a glimpse of what lies beyond the walls, which he refers to as the “heart of winter”, we might’ve gotten some answers if the show had happened.

Kit Harington Wasn’t Happy With the Leaks of the Spin-off Being in Development

Finally addressing the speculations surrounding the Jon Snow spin-off, Kit Harington elaborated on why the series was called off. While George R.R. Martin revealed that it was the actor himself, who instigated the idea of the spin-off, the Emmy-nominated star explained they didn’t have the right story to justify its existence.
