New ‘Evil Dead’ spin-off movie officially in the works – here’s what we know so far

Exciting news for horror fans! A new Evil Dead spin-off film is officially in development, with Sébastien Vaniček set to direct and co-write the project.

Sébastien Vaniček, known for his chilling French horror flick “Infested” (also known as “Vermines”), has been chosen to helm the next installment in the iconic “Evil Dead” series.

Following the success of Lee Cronin’s “Evil Dead Rise,” which performed impressively at the box office, grossing $147 million against a modest budget, the franchise is expanding with this new spinoff.

The spin-off project is being produced by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert under their Ghost House Pictures banner.

The “Evil Dead” series began its journey in 1981 with Sam Raimi both writing and directing the inaugural film.

The original movie follows a group of college students who accidentally unleash demonic forces during their stay at an isolated cabin.

Raimi continued the saga with “Evil Dead 2” in 1987 and “Army of Darkness” in 1993.

While specific details about the plot and cast of the new Evil Dead film are yet to be revealed, fans can anticipate another thrilling installment in this beloved horror franchise.

As for Vaniček’s untitled Evil Dead spin-off, a release date has not been announced yet.

For those eager to dive into the Evil Dead universe, “Evil Dead Rise” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
