‘Beetlejuice’ director Tim Burton to helm a remake of 1958 cult classic ‘Attack of the 50-Foot Woman’

Legendary director Tim Burton is set to take on the remake of the ’50s sci-fi horror cult classic, “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman,” at Warner Bros. Pictures. According to Variety, Burton will helm the project, with the script penned by acclaimed writer Gillian Flynn, known for “Gone Girl.”

Burton will also produce the film alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. While specific details about the remake are still under wraps, it will reimagine the 1958 original, which depicted a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after a close encounter with an alien, complicating her already troubled marriage.

Despite its modest $88,000 budget, the original film was a success, and its iconic poster art remains recognizable to this day. In 1993, a remake directed by Christopher Guest starred Daryl Hannah in the lead role.

Burton, known for his distinctive style and storytelling, has recently been involved as an executive producer for Netflix’s popular TV show, “Wednesday.” His next highly anticipated project is the long-awaited Beetlejuice sequel, which recently unveiled its first poster along with the announcement of its release date and title.

As of now, Tim Burton’s “Attack of the 50-Foot Woman” remake does not have a confirmed release date.
