David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan are the new faces of Superman and Lois Lane in James Gunn’s upcoming DCU film Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy).

Sharing one of the behind-the-scenes photos from the film, it seems that the cast has bonded quite well.

Taking to Instagram, Lois Lane actress Rachel Brosnahan took a photo of Ira Corenswet (David Corenswet’s dog) sitting on her chair.

After taking a cheeky dig at the dog, David Corenswet also took to his Instagram to give an appropriate reply to these jokes!

Rachel Brosnahan Has Been Recast In Superman!

Call it nepotism (that’s what Rachel Brosnahan is calling it) but the actress took to Instagram to share the most recent update on her role in Superman.

 Taking a photo of her chair on-set, the actress sadly remarked that her position as Lois Lane had been snubbed.

In an Instagram post, the actress shared a photo of Ira Corenswet (David Corenswet’s dog) sitting on the chair meant for Rachel Brosnahan.

Taking to the caption, Brosnahan jokingly wrote that her position had been snubbed by Ira Corenswet!

“Sad to report I’ve been recast today. Ira Corenswet will be taking over the role of Lois Lane. Although I’m disappointed (and he is a nepo baby), I wish him luck.”

And although the world laughed along with the actress and saw how cute the dog was, David Corenswet had to give a reply. Taking to his Instagram, the actor shared a story where he went on to tag James Gunn and Rachel Brosnahan to give them a very important message!

David Corenswet Replied Kindly To Rachel Brosnahan’s Dig!

This proves just how cute and humble David Corenswet is. Taking to his Instagram, the actor shared a photo of his dog Ira Corenswet sitting on a chair on the set of a film (most probably a DCU film).

Sharing the photo on his Insta, Corenswet wrote “James Gunn & Rachel Brosnahan, plz tag Ira so he can start collecting residual checks. Those squirrels aren’t going to chase themselves.” 

With the news becoming viral on X (formerly Twitter), people talked about how David Corenswet might actually turn out to be a good Superman, and also, who was a good boy! (Answer: Ira Corenswet).

Suffice it to say, the upcoming 2025 film Superman will be a hit if Ira Corenswet is indeed calling the shots. On the other hand, the plot details of the film have allegedly revealed that Corenswet’s Superman will embark on a journey to reconcile with his Kryptonian heritage while being raised as a human.

Although the tale does sound interesting, James Gunn recently confirmed that the main antagonist of the film will be Lex Luthor. The film is set for a release date of 11 July 2025 in theaters across the world and people are surely excited for it.
