Despite having limited field time last season, Dalvin Cook knows he can be a ‘star’ playing at the higher level.

Having one bad year doesn’t define an individual’s ability to conquer. Just like the 2023 NFL season doesn’t define the star running back, Dalvin Cook– as so he believes.

It’s the later stage of the NFL free agency, but it appears there remain prominent names in the market ready for grabs. Among those, sits the free agent Cook who is coming off his worst NFL season with the New York Jets in 2023. Given that, there have hardly been a few teams interested in him.

But that doesn’t shake the confidence that four-time Pro Bowler possesses, as he knows it’s just a bump on the road. Although the running back had a very limited on-field time last season which he reasoned for his poor performance, he knows he can be a ‘star’ playing at the higher level.

Though the market has been quiet Cook, he hasn’t lost faith. In fact, he sent a strong message to all the teams across the league, filled with resilience in his voice, via NFL reporter Aaron Wilson of KPRC.

I've got it all. The tools are still here. I didn't really get no reps last year. So, the legs are fresh, so the resume speaks for itself. I'm still Dalvin Cook. I'm still that guy. For me, I don't like to toot my own horn. I just like to go out there, put my helmet on, and line up on the grass.

Dalvin Cook’s strategy to stay game-ready amidst career hurdles

Despite not having any vivid prospects for the upcoming season, Cook hasn’t lost hope as he continues to work towards the possibility that, when he is needed, he will be ready to dominate the football field.

During his conversation with Wilson, he was asked why he prefers ‘staying ready,’ to which he replied confidently saying he ought to stay ready as a veteran so that he doesn’t have to put in extra work with pressure to get ready. It appears the former Minnesota Vikings star isn’t going to rest until his poor narrative for the past season is changed.

Cook has an astonishing career record of 6,207 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns in addition to 872 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. Fortunately, it’s still early to say anything given the fact, that Cook has extensive time to grab a potential deal.
