LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, Lakers

Around LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers had a number of significant secondary players throughout their journey to the 2020 NBA Championship. Rajon Rondo was arguably the most significant player and the one who made the most shots throughout that postseason run.

LeBron and Davis clicked well with the point guard, who is regarded as one of the smartest players to have ever set foot on a basketball court. James has nothing but admiration for Rondo after the guard declared his official retirement from the NBA.

Via Spectrum SportsNet, LeBron praised Rondo as one of the best players he has ever paired with and said he told him they could win a championship if they ever got together.

“Among the best players I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with.” It’s obvious that he has an extraordinary IQ. It was a great fortune for me to collaborate with him during my time in Los Angeles. Of course, I was thrilled to hear that he was moving to Los Angeles and joining the Lakers. I knew what we were capable of doing together

. Do used to say that if he and I ever paired up, he knew we could win a championship, and we did. He achieved all and more out of his career because he was a hard opponent throughout my career while he was in Boston and because of our clashes when I was in Cleveland and moved to Miami. A two-time champion and multiple All-Star, he may have led the league in assists a few years ago or at least been close to it. Simply amazing as a player.

Rondo’s intelligence and basketball IQ are unmatched by anyone who has ever worked with him or even just had a discussion with him. It’s a testament to Rondo’s intelligence that LeBron, one of the greatest players in NBA history, said that.

In addition to winning two titles with the Lakers and one with the Boston Celtics, Rondo was a four-time All-Star and five-time selection to the All-Defensive Team. He also led the NBA in assists three times. Although he didn’t have the most spectacular style of play, he was unquestionably one of the finest pure point guards of his generation and deserved all the accolades James and others are bestowing upon him.

LeBron James of the Lakers finds it strange that Rajon Rondo isn’t coaching.
Rajon Rondo’s future is currently unknown as his basketball career comes to an end. LeBron James finds it surprising that the former Laker hasn’t pursued coaching, even though it would seem like the obvious decision.

Recently, LeBron discussed this topic, saying that Rondo is a player who would become an excellent coach and that it’s strange that he hasn’t followed that path. Rondo, for his part, would say that he is devoted to his family, especially his daughter, but he did say that he would love to be the coach of the NBA franchise that LeBron plans to control, the Las Vegas expansion team.
